Introduction ~ Prophetic Ministry

Prophetic Ministry.

Ever since I was in my early teens the Lord has used me in prophetic ministry. And I have had some amazing experiences. For sure it has been not because of me but simply because God likes to use “the foolish things to confound the wise,” and He seems to take a great delight in using broken vessels for His Glory.

When I was younger it seemed that those who moved in prophetic ministry were few and far between. And there was little if any instruction or guidance. What guidance we received was more in the form of warnings as to what not to do rather than encouragement in moving as far into our gifting as we possibly could. This is not to criticize past leadership. They basically just did not know how to handle these somewhat strange individuals who often did and said odd things. Rather, I am thanking God that, for the most part, things are different now. Not only do we have more understanding but the prophets have been better able to take their place in the Church of Jesus Christ.

God loves to speak to his church, and the prophetic is one way in which He does that. Public utterance in Tongues, Interpretation of those Tongues, Prophecy, dreams, visions, the sharing of inspired words of exhortation, prophetic sermons. God has many ways in which He uses prophetically gifted individuals and when they flow in the Spirit along with the rest of the Five Fold Ministry in the Body of Christ it can be a beautiful and very beneficial thing.

I have been prophesying for over 40 years and believe that I have many more years (even decades, please Lord) of active service ahead of me, but as an “old lion” it is my sincere prayer that God will raise up many of the present generation to be “young lions” who roar forth the Word of the Lord in the anointing of the Holy Spirit. May they not only come forth but may their exploits far exceed those of my generation, in Jesus name!

P.S. Time's a wastin'. Time to obey God!
