The Splendor of the Coming Move of God

In my lifetime we have had two major worldwide moves of God that transformed lives and engendered radical change across a broad spectrum of the Church of Jesus Christ.

Wave of the Holy Spirit

These moves have had powerful impact,
but as wonderful as they were and are,
they are but preparation for
the greatest move this
world has ever seen.

The first was birthed over 50 years ago. The Charismatic movement was somewhat confusing to classical Pentecostals, to hear of everyone from Roman Catholics to Lutherans receiving the infilling of the Holy Spirit and praying and praising God in tongues. It emphasised daily walking in the Spirit, experiencing divine encounters with God and man, and the exercise of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The church has never been the same. Thank God!

Father Heart of God

The next move of God was birthed in 1994. A small Vineyard church in Toronto was the epicenter of a spiritual explosion that focussed on the Love of the Father for His children. We were revived, empowered, healed, and came to love God and experience His love in ways we never knew possible. The unusual manifestations have moderated somewhat, but this move of God is alive and well, has matured, planted churches, and is flourishing.

These moves have had powerful impact, but as wonderful as they were and are, they are but preparation for the greatest move this world has ever seen. The best is yet to be!

The Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ

The Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Building on the foundation of these past moves - the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the experience of the Father Heart of God - the next and perhaps final move of God’s Spirit will bring forth a world changing, heart transforming, church reviving, and five-fold leadership restoring Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The first move emphasised the infilling with tongues, and the manifestation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The second, the Father’s love, and inner healing. I believe the next will also have two major distinguishing characteristics.

1. Worship

Each move of God has its own style of worship, appropriate to the revelation at that time.

Get ready! A new style of worship music will be birthed out of and bring us further into a fresh Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. It will not focus on our experience of God, and how we feel about Him, and He about us. Instead, it will reflect the majesty and glory and splendor of the King of Glory, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, He who has a flaming sword coming forth from His Mouth, Casting Crowns. He in whose Presence we must bow in fear and trembling. There will be no trite tunes or sappy sentimentality. There will be thunder, and power, and might and glory. The heavens will rend; the earth will shake beneath our feet. In our worship we will still feel the Love of our Heavenly Father, and rejoice in the Joy of His Presence, but we will ascend in spirit to the Throne Room of the Almighty and, consumed with His splendour, we will tremble in awe at His Power and Glory, walk among the stones of fire, and throw the crowns of our own achievement at His feet. We will go beyond being blessed, being healed, being delighted. We will have a fresh baptism of the Fear of the Lord that will shake us to the core of our being. We will be transformed – purged, purified, and empowered - in ways heretofore unknown.

A New Sound

From a distance I have heard the sound of this worship. As a passionate worshipper it touched me more than anything I have ever experienced. It is symphonic, orchestral, but beyond anything we know today. This will be a style like no other. There was a day when rock, and rap, and country music were unknown. The music to be birthed by the coming Revelation of Jesus Christ is yet unknown. But we will know it when we hear it, for it will cause us to see His blazing beauty as we never have. Judah, the tribe of worshippers, will lead the way into the heavenly Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many worship styles we enjoy today were birthed in the world and brought to the church. This music will originate in the heart of God, be conceived in the womb of the church, and be brought forth by anointed singers and minstrels with the heart of David. It will be arresting. The lost will hear this sound and be held captive in its sway. It will resound deep in their hearts in a way like no other. Wanting to demonstrate its power in the secular world, some will try to duplicate it and be confounded in their inability and the ineffectualness of their efforts. The music of the world can be redeemed by the church; the music of Heaven cannot be duplicated by the world.

Fear of the Lord

The Fear of the Lord.

Imagine . . . the music of Heaven! Somewhere along the way we have lost our sense of the Fear of the Lord. This music, filled with the awe inspiring Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ, will compel all – saved and sinner alike - to fall in fear and trembling, prostate before His throne. It will mean the end of soft sell altar calls. We will respond with radical repentance and complete surrender to Christ in utter abandon.

This music will be so majestic, it will feel beyond full expression. It will be so rich, so full, and so magnificent that whole orchestras will be enlisted, but it will still feel woefully inadequate to convey the glory of the King of Kings! Musicians will even invent new instruments to better express the splendor of the new sound the Lord has placed in their spirits. This will be on earth the music closest to that of Heaven, and all other forms will pale in comparison.

Both the style and the substance of our worship will be transformed. It will be full of power and thunder and the Fear of the Lord. But the second part of the coming Revelation of Jesus Christ will fill us with awe and joy, and it will be even more transforming!

2. The Sacrament of Holy Communion

Our worship has valued the Scriptures and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. When the Lord adds to this a fresh Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ as revealed in the Sacrament of Holy Communion, our worship of the King will be complete. We Will See Him in the Sacrament. We have cried out for more. This – seeing Him more fully in the Sacrament of Holy Communion - is the more for which we seek. When fully received, it will transform the church and empower us to transform the world.

We Will See Him in the Sacrament

With a fresh encounter with Jesus Christ, birthed in a transforming experience of His Presence in the Sacrament of Holy Communion, we will move beyond our theological differences and cultural bias and receive fresh revelation from the Holy Word of God. The words "this is My Body" and "this is My Blood" will fill us with awe and wonder. We will receive the bread in trembling hands and say with hushed reverence, "This is the Body of Christ!" We will sip of the cup and with the wine on our tongue our entire being will cry out, "This is the Blood of Jesus Christ!" The very thought will overwhelm us with joy. We will be consumed with the Love and Fear of the Almighty. The Sacrament of Holy Communion, rightfully revealed, will give us a fresh Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. We will see Him. We will touch Him. We will taste Him. We will consume Him. Doing so will transform our spiritual DNA. His Presence will become a flesh and blood physical reality with a depth and to a degree none on earth now fully understand or experience! All praise be given to the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen. So profound will be this experience and revelation that meeting in Jesus Name, worshipping Him in Spirit and in Truth, and not receiving the Body and Blood of Christ during Holy Communion, will be inconceivable. I have had a momentary foretaste of this experience, and it shook me to the core of my being.

Wonder and Awe

Wonder and Awe.

Again I say, we cry out for more, and worship more intensely. And many churches stand strong on the Word. It is taught profoundly, which is to their credit. A healthy church will have both wonderful worship and a clear and powerful Word. But sometimes we ask more from them than they are able to give! Having the Word and worship, yet lacking the Sacraments, we become weak on wonder and awe. We must realize that no matter how well taught the Scripture, no matter how passionately sought the Holy Spirit, they cannot fully give us the more we crave. To receive more we must have the Presence of Christ as received in the Sacraments. This is My Body. This is My Blood. This was not said of the Scriptures. It was not said of the Holy Spirit. These words are only true of the bread and wine that becomes the Body and Blood that will feed the depths of our longing soul. Jesus blessed and held up the bread and said, “This is My Body.” So too we will receive the blessed bread and wine and, holding it in our hands, realize that this is His Body, this is His Blood. Doing this, how could we not be transformed? Friends, this is the “More” for which we seek. And this is the divine three fold cord of complete worship: the move of the Holy Spirit, the teaching of the Scriptures, and the true revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Sacraments. This three-fold cord of complete worship - the Spirit, the Scriptures, and the Sacraments - will bind earth to Heaven and bring Heaven to earth.

Get Ready. It is Coming!

Church, it is coming. A fresh Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Worshipers, get ready. Prepare your hearts for a new sound, unlike any this world has ever heard. Judah, you will lead the way. Listen well. When you hear it, as best you can share that new sound with us and, as we worship together, bring us into the heavenly Throne Room of the Almighty where in awe and fear and holy terror we . . . will . . . see . . . Him. Then later, as we partake of the bread and wine, the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Glory come to earth, we . . . will . . . receive . . . Him in His fullness. See Him; receive Him; and be transformed.

Transformed!

Transformed.

He is the first and the last. The church was born focussing on Jesus. At the last, He and He alone will once again be our primary focus and only passion. This will transform everything.

  • Our relationship with Scripture. We will have a consuming passion for the Word of God as we see Jesus written and more fully revealed on every page.
  • Our lifestyle will be marked by Righteousness, with a zero tolerance for the sins and ethical lapses that have become common, and to which we sadly have become lenient. We will walk with God with a holy and reverential Fear of the Lord.
  • There will be a profound doctrinal revolution, one that rivals that of the Reformation, focussing on the glory and the splendor of the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Recognizing and rejoicing in Jesus as King, five-fold leadership will be fully restored, and Kingdom Dominion will be demonstrated in Apostolic signs and wonders and miracles.

These things will happen because in our worship we will know the holy terror of having gone to Heaven. And in the Sacrament of Holy Communion we will know the overwhelming joy of the best of Heaven having come to earth. All hail King Jesus!

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
