Ok, so I’ve got opinions. (Don’t we all?) And to be honest, I’ve tried not to. I really have. After all, too many opinions or the wrong kind can get you into trouble, fast. In fact, one day some years ago during a rather turbulent season of life I heard myself say to Caroline, “I’m sick and tired of my own opinions and I just don’t want to hear them anymore.” And during times of great difficulty, especially church difficulty, it really is a good thing to keep one’s big mouth shut! Sure makes for less to repent for later. (Lord knows I’ve had to do plenty of that over the years.)

Anyone with an
ounce of red blood
in their veins
is going to have
a few strong thoughts
about something.

But I must admit I haven’t succeeded very well at it, the not having opinions thing I mean. It seems that keeping totally quiet simply doesn’t last forever. Anyone with an ounce of red blood in their veins is going to have a few strong thoughts about something. I know I certainly do. I just pray that I have the right kind of opinions and that there is at least a sprinkle of wisdom and sound judgment thrown into the mix.

And some of these pages are not just opinion pieces but hopefully expositions and/or teachings of Biblical truth that have come out of a passionate heart.

Also it can sometimes be hard to know if I am just expressing a "righteous opinion" or being Prophetic.

Psalm 39: 1-3

I think it was King David who said in Psalm 39: 1-3 (NKJV)

I said, “I will guard my ways,
Lest I sin with my tongue;
I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle,
While the wicked are before me.”

I was mute with silence,
I held my peace even from good;
And my sorrow was stirred up.

My heart was hot within me;
While I was musing, the fire burned.
Then I spoke with my tongue:

So, here I am speaking. (Well, writing actually, but you get what I mean.)
